Are you a potential patient receiving pregnancy testing with a partner who has questions? We are here for both of you. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions that we hear from partners about Dove Medical’s services and your potential pregnancy:
To Partners:
Pregnancy can affect the life of a patient and their partner. This can leave you experiencing a variety of feelings and concerns. Only you know how you are feeling about the situation and how to best respond. Dove Medical can provide a confidential and safe space for you to navigate your next steps together.
can i come to my partner’s appointments?
Dove Medical appointments are patient-led, which means that the patient is in control of their appointment. Each appointment begins with a brief medical intake, after which the patient is welcome to have a support person join them for the rest of their appointment.
How Do I know if My Partner is really pregnant?
Dove Medical provides free and confidential lab-quality urine pregnancy testing, decision coaching, and limited obstetrical ultrasound for pregnancy diagnosis to our patients. A limited obstetrical ultrasound can determine the gestational age of a pregnancy, where the pregnancy is located, and if there is a heartbeat.
My partner has bad morning sickness. what can i do to help?
We know that it can be difficult to feel helpless while someone you love deals with pregnancy discomforts. Luckily, there are ways to alleviate nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, such as eating small, frequent meals, taking ginger either in capsules or as dried candies, and taking a combination of Vitamin B6 and Unisom daily. Consult your doctor before making changes with your diet, supplements, and medications during pregnancy.
If you have concerns about morning sickness and other pregnancy symptoms, you are welcome to call 541-345-3683 to speak with a member of our nursing staff. You will also have the opportunity to discuss these concerns with our nursing staff during a new patient intake appointment.
What Services are available for Me?
We understand that pregnancy can represent a huge change in your life as well as your partner’s. We are here for both of you! You will have the opportunity during the patient’s appointment to discuss your unique concerns about the pregnancy with the patient’s care team, including their Patient Advocate and Registered Nurse. If you would like to speak privately to a support staff member about your concerns, please notify the receptionist.
