If you were shocked that the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June of 2022, you weren’t alone.

As soon as the decision was announced about the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health ruling, rumors and misinformation started to circulate about what this would mean for women’s health.

If you’re facing an unplanned pregnancy, you probably have some questions.

Is Abortion Now Illegal in America?

The Dobbs decision to overturn Roe v. Wade did not make abortion illegal everywhere in the United States.

Instead, it opened the door for each state legislature to pass laws regarding abortion that are specific to that state.

This means that abortion regulations will vary from state to state instead of being universal for all states.

Is This Setting Women Back?

Women can still influence state politics and lawmaking. They can make their voices heard at voting booths by electing people who will act on their behalf, or by running for office themselves.

What are the Abortion Laws in Oregon?

Oregon does not have any restrictions on abortion statewide. It is also not likely any restrictions on abortion will be passed in our state anytime soon (as of November 2022).
