During pregnancy, you may face a variety of pregnancy decisions. A Limited Obstetrical Ultrasound will provide you with three important pieces of information critical to those decisions: where the pregnancy is located, how far along the pregnancy is, and if there is a heartbeat. Your exam will be read by one of our Practitioners who will diagnose your pregnancy and determine gestational age.
Ultrasounds are a diagnostic test that uses high-frequency sound waves to determine pregnancy. Performing this exam during pregnancy is a safe and painless procedure. This procedure uses no radiation exposure.
Exams are performed only when medically indicated. In order to have an ultrasound, you will need to have a positive pregnancy test and medical consultation with one of our Registered Nurses at Dove Medical. Limited Obstetrical Ultrasound does not determine gender. All results will be read by one of our Physicians.
In preparation for an ultrasound exam, please drink 16 oz. of water prior to arrival so that you have a full bladder. If you think you might be pregnant, request an appointment today!
